Steam Truck Operator (Class 3 Driver)
Fort McMurray

Job Summary:

Operating from our Fort McKay main shop, this position involves the safe operation of a Steam Truck for washing of heavy equipment and various industrial related projects throughout the Fort McMurray region.

Operators should be mechanically inclined and physically fit to work in all kinds of weather. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in the operation of high pressure steam trucks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • • Completion of daily documentation including but not limited to paper or electronic log books, customer work orders, field level risk assessment, pre/post trip inspections
  • • Follow instructions for tasks assigned by Dispatch or Supervisor
  • • Complete daily housekeeping of assigned truck to ensure maintenance of company image
  • • Attend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • • Possess a valid Class 3 operator’s license with clean driver’s abstract
  • • Minimum 3 years experience operating high pressure steam truck
  • • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • • TDG, OSSA (or OSSA BSO) and CSTS certification
  • • Must successfully pass BME driver’s evaluation, D&A and fit for duty pre-employment screening

Compensation and Schedule:

  • • Competitive Market Rates according to experience
  • • 14 days on and 7 days off shift rotation

Mobile Structure Repair Technician
Fort McMurray

Job Summary:

Reporting to our site manager and operating from our Syncrude site office, the Mobile Structure Repair Technician is responsible for general repairs and maintenance of various wash cart facilities located throughout the Syncrude site.  The individual in this position must be proficient in a variety of skills including electrical, plumbing and general building repairs.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating unit repairs and maintenance
  • Ordering and maintaining an inventory of facility replacement parts
  • Coordinating subcontracted trades personnel where required for unit maintenance and repairs
  • Assisting in facility moves within Syncrude site as required
  • Maintenance of on-line parts inventory
  • Seeking cost effective parts and material sources that continue to meet customer contract requirements

 

Qualifications:

  • Min 5 years experience in mobile structure repair industry (preference to be given to candidates with previous camp or mobile structure repairs)
  • Possess valid driver’s license (min class 5) with clean abstract
  • Experience and/or accreditation as a qualified repair technician
  • Experience and/or accreditation for building repairs such as flooring, door replacement and drywall installation
  • Above average troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Strong computer skills (i.e. outlook, excel, sharepoint, etc)
  • Preference shall be given to candidates that have a journeyman status as a parts technician
  • OSSA (or OSSA BSO) and CSTS certification
  • Must successfully pass BME pre-employment evaluation, D&A and fit for duty pre-employment screening

  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure work completed meets manufacturers’ specification and AB Transportation regulations
  • Completion of repair documentation including but not limited to work order, field level risk assessment, and hazard identification
  • Follow instructions for tasks assigned by shop supervisor
  • Complete daily housekeeping of assigned area or service vehicle to ensure maintenance of company image
  • Attend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations and procedures.

  • 10 on, 10 off – dayshift or nightshift
  • 12-hour shifts

  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure work completed meets manufacturers’ specification and AB Transportation regulations
  • Completion of repair documentation including but not limited to work order, field level risk assessment, and hazard identification
  • Follow instructions for tasks assigned by shop supervisor
  • Complete daily housekeeping of assigned area or service vehicle to ensure maintenance of company image
  • Attend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations and procedures.

  • Must successfully pass BME pre-employment evaluation, D&A and fit for duty pre-employment screening
